Brian has been involved in the carrier, specialty programs and agency sectors of the insurance marketplace for 25 years with diverse experience in commercial property/casualty marketing, underwriting, loss control and sales. His background includes expertise in program research, business development, niche/affinity marketing, risk assessment and program management. He began his insurance career as a Loss Control Representative with Federated Mutual Insurance Company.
After leaving Federated, Brian joined CNA where much of his work experience was in the Commercial Affiliation Marketing (CAM) program division. While in CAM he developed and managed multi-line national trade association programs ($1.5B) in the construction and manufacturing sectors. He also served in a regional capacity as a construction practice leader to improve underwriting results. After leaving CNA, Brian spent two years as an agency producer with Alper Services.
Brian joined SUA Insurance Company (Specialty Underwriters Alliance) in 2006 where he managed MGA partner relationships for program segments in construction, transportation and workers compensation. While with SUA, he was able to rehabilitate a number of programs to achieve production and profitability objectives.
At Cornerstone, he is responsible for developing and managing niche programs and class expertise for the enterprise as well as developing alternative risk transfer products for MGA/specialty retail partners.
Brian graduated with a BS from Northern Illinois University and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation.
